There is the last version of iThumbail ( old name: intelligent thumbnail ) version 1.9

Dynamic thumbnail in The Secretary always get the center of the original image file to get the thumbnail. Now with iThumbnail installed you will have the option to customize which is the most important area on your image, and dynamic thumbnail function will take this in consideration for the thumbnail making. It works with image files in groups and with the image for "project thumbnail" (if you have the option "Resize project thumbnails" turn on the Projects Settings).

How it works

Just copy ithumbnail folder inside of your cms/system/plugins

Please post something if you like it and if you have something to improve or bugs.

May be if some now don't get it, the simply way to get to your iThumbnail from a template is that:
<?php echo ithumbnail( projectSlug(), "" , 200, 130); ?>

I have 2 questions regarding ithumbnail.

    1. let's say i've chosen a thumbnail format of w=200 h=150, and i have portrait and landscape images, and i want each image to be fitted inside this format without any cropping or deformation. how do I achieve this ?

    2. now, let's imagine i want all my thumbnails to be 150pixels high with proportional width. Is this also possible ?

    Hello microbians,

thank you for sharing! My only problem is: the thumbnails created by your plugin are way too saturated (probably caused by missing color management or something?).

Since I am not a programming-pro I couldn't really tell why or where to set it in your plugin-file.

Would be great, if you could help me out.

    Hi Silvan

The secretary works with PHP and PHP works with GD library that have no color management. I found this articles that says the best solution at last is to use sRGB conversion with no color management.

The only manipulation iThumbnail does as difference of standard thumbnails in The Secretary is to add a little sharpen to the thumbnails to avoid the little blur it adds in the reduction.

Hope this help you in something.

    Hi Gabriel,

thank you for this really fast reply! I will look into the link you provided. I convert my web images usually already to sRGB but include the profile.

    Thank you again, best,
